CD Projekt Red Announces GWENT Arena

It’s Another Draft Mode

Weak decks keeping you down? Are you a better brawler than a strategist? Unlock your full potential with unrestricted decks, and face off against Gaunter O’Dimm, the Man of Glass, in GWENT Arena Mode.

CD Projekt Red previously teased an upcoming game mode. Now they’ve stayed true to this tease when they unveiled a new draft-based game mode today called GWENT Arena. Costing 150 ore (or $2), the player takes part in an arena-style run that concludes in either 9 victories or 3 failures. The farther you get, the better the rewards. If you best all 9 challengers, you’ll be given a randomly chosen premium Legendary card.

Like with other card games, this mode doesn’t utilize the player’s normal deck. Instead, you draft a deck from all available cards, including premiums. For this reason, CD Projekt Red has suggested focusing on singular good cards, and not be too concerned with trying to create a strategically advantageous deck.

GWENT Arena is still in the testing phase, however. The new mode will be “coming soon.” While a draft mode is something the game’s community has been waiting for for a while now, they will have to wait for just a bit longer still.
